My Black Berkey filter wing nuts keep spinning, what should I do?

The wing nuts for Black Berkey filters are no longer available as they are out of stock, and we will not be receiving them in the immediate future.

However, the Teflon tape method is effective if applied correctly:

Wrap at least 3 to 4 turns of Teflon tape around the filter’s threaded stem.
Wrap the tape clockwise, so the nut doesn’t unwind the tape when screwed on.
The goal is to create enough thickness so the nut “bites” properly into the threading.

By doing so, you’ll achieve a watertight seal that will properly secure the gasket inside the chamber.
