MAYU Swirl FAQ

MAYU Swirl FAQ

Does the MAYU Swirl purify water?

No. The MAYU Swirl does not filter or purify water. It restructures and aerates water to improve its hydration potential, taste, and texture. For best results, use filtered or potable water.

Can I use tap water in the Swirl?

Although the Swirl does not filter water, if you choose to use tap water in your Swirl without prior treatment, the aeration will allow volatile compouds such as chlorine to be released into the atmosphere much more quickly than standing water. As such, tap water will taste a lot better, and the vortexing will soften the texture, making it much smoother and tastier.

Can I use the Swirl with other beverages?

By all means! Wine is particularly well aerated with the Swirl. However, make sure to thoroughly clean the carafe and impeller after each use when using liquids other than water, to prevent organic matter build-up.

How long should I let the vortex run before drinking?

The saturation in dissolved oxygen will reach about 80% after about 10 minutes of vortexing your water in the Swirl. The longer you leave the unit spinning, the better. Plus it looks great!

How long does my water stay structured?

Structured water can retain its structure for several hours to even a few days, depending on how it’s stored. To help preserve the structure longer, it’s best to keep the water in glass or stainless steel containers.

Can I put my structured water in the fridge or store it?

Yes! You can absolutely store structured water in the fridge. Cooling it gently won't harm its structure — in fact, it can help maintain it. Just avoid shaking or agitating it too much, as this can slightly reduce the structural integrity over time.

Should I cover my MAYU Swirl with a lid?

You don’t need a lid for the MAYU Swirl when it is in use — in fact, it’s designed to be used open. Swirling the water without a lid allows more oxygen to enter, enhancing both the structure and the taste of the water.

As long as you consume the water within 24 hours, it’s perfectly fine to top it up and swirl again, even if some water remains in the carafe. The continuous movement and oxygenation prevent the water from becoming stagnant, helping to keep it fresh and safe to drink.

On the other hand, if you are afraid something might drop inside the carafe in between uses (dust, impurities, ...) and would like to make sure your water stays clean for extended periods of time, then it is advised to order a lid separately.

Can I use the Essential or Electrolyte Minerals in any beverage?

Absolutely! The MAYU minerals can be added to any beverage to reap the benefits your body deserves.

How do I store MAYU minerals?

Store your MAYU Essential Blend and MAYU Electrolytes in a dark dry place to keep them fresh and potent.

What is the difference between Essential and Electrolyte Minerals?

Both MAYU Essential Blend and MAYU Electrolytes serve unique purposes.

The Essential Blend is perfect for daily use, especially with distilled, reverse osmosis (RO) water, or demineralized bottled water, as it restores those vital minerals stripped away during the purification process. Demineralized water is a powerful solvent that will leach minerals out of your body with every sip you take. By adding a few drops of MAYU Essential Blend to your water, you will be able to restore the nutritious minerals your body's multiple systems need to function at their optimal state.

The MAYU Electrolytes blend is formulated to replenish the minerals and nutrients lost during periods of increased activity or perspiration. It's a fantastic choice to reinvigorate and restore your body's essential elements after physical exertion.

Both mineral blends offer tailored benefits to support your body's needs at different times!

Is the carafe dishwasher safe?

Yes. The carafe is made of hand-blown borosilicate glass and is dishwasher safe (top rack recommended). Always remove the impeller before placing it in the dishwasher.

How often should I clean the Swirl?

  1. Carafe: Every 4–5 days
  2. Impeller: As needed, especially if stained
  3. Base: Wipe with a damp cloth; do not submerge

What direction does the MAYU Swirl in?

The MAYU Swirl has the option to vortex in both directions!
When it first comes on, it will begin to spin. If you would rather it spin in the other direction, you would stop the vortex, wait for a few seconds, and then start it again.
When it starts again, the spin will start going in the other direction. Since the water was already going the opposite way, it could take up to a minute to get a full vortex going in the new direction.
