How to fix the AlkaFlow's bamboo lid if it comes loose?

If the bamboo part of your AlkaFlow pitcher or dispenser lid has come loose from the inner stainless steel piece, it’s easy to glue it back on.
Use a 2-part epoxy adhesive designed for bonding wood and metal.

Once fully cured, this type of glue is generally considered safe for indirect food contact (such as a lid), because it becomes inert after complete curing. In addition, in the case of the AlkaFlow pitcher or dispenser, the cured glue will never come into contact with the filtered water.

It’s important to follow the drying/curing time indicated by the manufacturer before using it.

  2. Gorilla 2-Part Epoxy
Available at most Canadian hardware stores (e.g., Home Depot, Canadian Tire, etc.).

Steps to follow

  1. Clean both surfaces of any leftover glue residue.
  2. Wash and dry both surfaces.
  3. Apply a small amount of epoxy according to the product instructions.
  4. Join the two pieces together.
  5. Hold them under pressure (with a weight or clamp).
  6. Let it cure for at least 24 hours before use.
