Coldstream FTO+ Filter Replacement

Filter Lifespan

Coldstream FTO+ filters are designed to provide optimal filtration over a long period.
  1. Recommended lifespan: 1,500 liters per filter
  2. With 2 filters: 3,000 liters, or about 1 year of use at 8 L/day
  3. With 4 filters (for 9L and 12L models): 6,000 liters, or about 2 years of use at 8 L/day
Note: Coldstream FTO+ filters have been tested up to 3,000 liters, in compliance with NSF certification requirements.

Filter Replacement Calculation

To estimate when you should replace your filters:
  1. First, identify the size of your system (6 L, 9 L, or 12 L).
  2. Then consider how many times you fill it each week.
  3. Multiply these two numbers to calculate your weekly water consumption.
  4. Each filter can process 1,500 L. With 2 filters, that’s a total of 3,000 L.
  5. Divide the total capacity by your weekly consumption to know how many weeks your filters will last.

    6. Example: With a 9 L system and 2 filters, filled 5 times per week:
    9 L × 5 fillings = 45 L per week.
    3,000 L ÷ 45 L = about 67 weeks.

If in doubt, or if you prefer simplicity, replace your filters once a year.
