AlkaFlow™ DUO FAQ & Troubleshooting

AlkaFlow™ DUO FAQ & Troubleshooting

Recommendations

Take it slow: Give yourself time to adjust to alkaline mineralized water. Start with one or two glasses per day, then gradually increase. This will allow your body to get used to the water without experiencing detox-related discomfort.

How much water should you drink?

The ideal amount of water depends on your weight. A simple rule is to drink each day the equivalent of half your weight (in pounds) in fluid ounces, knowing that 8 oz ≈ 250 ml.

For example, a person weighing 160 lbs should aim for about 80 oz, or 2.5 liters per day. Increase your intake if you sweat more (physical activity, heat, or illness).

Can you cook with AlkaFlow DUO water?

Absolutely! Use alkaline mineralized water for all your consumption needs: cooking, hot and cold beverages.

How to test the pH of the water?

Use pH test drops to test the water. Strips designed for testing body pH (urine, saliva) do not provide an accurate reading for water.

When should the filters be replaced?

With an average consumption of 8 liters per day, the filters should last about 6 months. After that, the water will still be filtered, but the performance will begin to decline, as will the beneficial effect of the mineral cartridge.

How often should I replace the filters?

Filters should be replaced every 12 months, based on an average use of 8 liters per day. Adjust replacement frequency according to your water consumption and local water quality.

My faucet keeps dripping after I turn it off, what should I do?

It is perfectly normal for water to continue flowing for a few seconds after closing the faucet. Since the second cartridge of the AlkaFlow DUO contains minerals, the system is equipped with a three-tube faucet specifically designed to prevent pressure from building up inside the housings. When the water is shut off, this faucet releases the residual water remaining in the lines, which helps prevent splashing.

If pressure does build up, the system may release an occasional drop. When the filters are brand new, the mineral cartridge is at its maximum potential, so drops may appear more frequently.

Tip: For optimal use of your AlkaFlow DUO, close the faucet slightly before your glass or container is full. This way, the residual flow can finish naturally without wasting water.

My water has a particular taste, is this normal?

It is normal to notice a slight mineral taste, especially if you are not used to it. If the taste is too strong at first, let the water run for a few minutes and the flavor will gradually fade.

Can I use hot water in the system?

No. Use cold water only. Hot water could damage the filters and housing components.

Routine Maintenance Instructions

  1. Weekly tip: Clean the outside of the system with a damp cloth.
  2. If the system hasn’t been used for more than 48 hours, run some water through the filters to reactivate it.

Steps for Replacing the Filters

  1. Shut off the water supply (faucet for countertop model, cold-water valve for under-sink model).
  2. Using the supplied wrench, unscrew the filter housing(s) counterclockwise.
  3. Note the installation direction of the mineral cartridge, then remove and discard the old filters.
  4. Insert the new cartridges, making sure to install the mineral filter in the same direction as before.
  5. Screw the housing back clockwise until snug, but do not overtighten.
  6. Run cold water for at least 5 minutes to rinse the new filter.
If an aftertaste persists, let it rest, then rinse again.

Maintenance Reminders

  1. Store spare filters in a cool, dry place.
  2. Ensure filters always remain in contact with water to prevent them from drying out.
  3. Regularly check the fittings to ensure there are no leaks.
