AlkaFlow™ DUO Countertop Installation and Maintenance

SET-UP INSTRUCTIONS

Faucet and filter installation 

  1. Unscrew the aerator from your kitchen faucet. If needed, use a pair of pliers, but protect the metal with a cloth to avoid scratching it.
  2. Screw the diverter valve onto your kitchen faucet. If the diverter doesn’t fit directly, use one of the included adapters.
  3. Open the faucet and pull the button on the diverter to redirect the water flow toward the filter. Use cold water only with the filter.
  4. Flush the filter by letting cold water run through the system for at least 5 minutes to rinse the new cartridge. If there is an aftertaste, let the system rest for a few minutes, then flush again.

Before drinking water from a new cartridge

It’s normal for a new filter cartridge to release some particles at first. Before drinking your first glass of water:
  1. Let the water run through the filter for at least 5 minutes.
  2. Let the system sit for a few minutes.
  3. Then flush the filter with water again for another 5 minutes. If there is any lingering aftertaste, repeat the rinsing process.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

Filter replacement instructions

  1. Use the included wrench to unscrew the filter housing(s) counterclockwise. If it’s very tight, ask someone to hold the base steady while you twist.
  2. Remove the old cartridge(s) and insert the new one(s). For the mineralizing cartridge, the arrow molded into the plastic casing should point downward.
  3. Reattach the housing cover(s) by screwing them back on clockwise. Make sure everything is tight enough to prevent leaks.
  4. Flush the new cartridge by running cold water through the system for at least 5 minutes. If you notice any aftertaste, let it rest a few minutes, then flush again.

    Maintenance frequency

    1. Filter replacement: Every 6 months (depending on usage and water quality)
    2. System cleaning: Every 6–12 months, or during filter changes
    3. Visual checks for leaks or build-up: Every month
