AlkaFlow™ Dispenser Installation

SET-UP INSTRUCTIONS

1. Clean Product Thoroughly: Remove the lid with 2 hands and remove the reservoir from the pitcher.  Wash all components with dish soap and a soft sponge.  Rinse and let dry.


2. Prepare Filter: Wash your hands and remove the filter cartridge from its packaging.  Place it upright fully submerged in a container of water and let it soak for 10 minutes.

3. Rinse Filter: Remove the filter from the water and hold it under running water for 10 seconds. Then shake the filter up and down a few times.


4. Rinse Filter Again: Turn the filter upside down and hold it again under running water for another 10 seconds. Then shake it up and down a few more times.


5. Insert Filter: Place the filter cartridge in the reservoir while the reservoir is not in the product main body. Gently push the filter down into the reservoir with a twisting motion until it is snugly in place and the top of the filter is almost flush with the bottom of the reservoir.


6. Fill Reservoir: Place the reservoir and filter into the product main body and ensure it is set correctly in place. Fill the reservoir with cold or room temperature water.  NOTE: You will notice that the first couple of batches of water may have a grey colour.  This is completely normal and is in no way harmful: it is the loose carbon dust typical of any new filter.


7. Discard Water: Once all the water has passed through the filter, discard the water. 
Repeat steps 6 and 7 two or three times, until the water runs clear and that all loose carbon dust has been rinsed away.


8. Final Check: Once the water has passed through the water cartridge for a third time, check your water. If it is clear, it is ready to drink.  If you see any carbon dust or grey residue, filter more batches of water through the filter cartridge until you get clean, transparent water.
