AlkaFlow™ Cleaning & Maintenance

AlkaFlow™ Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance of your AlkaFlow™ pitcher or dispenser ensures optimal performance and fresh-tasting water. Follow these simple tips to keep your system clean, efficient, and enjoyable to use.

AlkaFlow™ Pitcher and Dispenser Cleaning

How Often Should You Clean Your AlkaFlow™?

Every 2-4 weeks, or at the very least, when you change the filter.

What You’ll Need

  1. Mild dish soap
  2. Soft sponge or cloth
  3. White vinegar (optional, for deep cleaning)
  4. Warm (not hot) water
  5. Clean towel for drying
Avoid: Abrasive scrubbers, harsh chemicals, or boiling water — these can damage the materials.

Cleaning Tips

1. Disassemble the AlkaFlow™  Pitcher or Dispenser
Remove the lid, filter, and plastic reservoir.
Do not wash the filter — set it aside.

2. Wash All Removable Parts
Use warm water and mild dish soap to clean the lid, glass container and plastic reservoir. For extra freshness, you can wipe the tank with a solution of 1 part white vinegar to 3 parts water, then rinse thoroughly.

NOTE: For the AlkaFlow™ Dispenser, clean the stainless steel spigot at least once every 4-6 months.  To do so, unscrew the nut inside the reservoir and remove the stainless steel spigot. Soak the spigot in a bowl of warm water with dishsoap for at least 30 minutes.  Use a small brush or cotton swab to reach inside the spigot if needed.  Rinse thoroughly under warm running water to remove any soap residue.

3. Wipe the Exterior
Use a damp microfiber cloth to wipe down the outside of the reservoir.

4. Dry Completely
Let all parts air dry completely before reassembling, or dry with a clean towel.

5. Reassemble and Refill
Once everything is dry, reinsert the filter, reassemble the unit, and refill with fresh water.

AlkaFlow™ Pitcher and Dispenser Maintenance

  1. Install the unit away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
  2. If you won’t be using the pitcher or dispenser for an extended period of time, remove and store the filter in a sealed plastic bag in the fridge.
  3. If you ever notice unusual taste, odor, or a drop in flow rate, it might be time to clean your unit or replace the filter.

Filter Replacement Schedule

  1. ALKA-PH: Every 2 months (360 liters)
  2. ALKA-UF: Every 6 months (1000 liters)
Note: One ALKA-UF filter has the same filtration capacity as three (3) ALKA-PH filters. When purchasing replacement filters, plan for a ratio of 3 ALKA-PH filters to 1 ALKA-UF filter.

💡TIP: To estimate your filtered water consumption, multiply the capacity of your unit (pitcher or dispenser) by the number of refills you make each week. This will help you project your total consumption and know more accurately when it’s time to replace the filter.
